Privacy policy
Last updated 26 October 2026
In short: Kire keeps your financial data on your iPhone. We don't run servers that store your data, we don't sell or share it, and there are no ads or trackers in the app.
Who we are
Kire is a personal finance app for iPhone made in Malaysia. In this policy, "we" means Basic Logic Solutions, the developer of Kire. You can reach us at hello@kire.my.
What Kire stores, and where
Everything you add or Kire records — transactions, accounts, budgets, bills, loans, goals, receipts, attachments, locations, your profile and settings — is stored on your iPhone.
- iCloud sync (optional): if you turn it on, your data is also stored in your own private iCloud account so your devices stay in step. Apple runs iCloud; we can't see that data.
- Backups: backup files are created only when you ask, and saved wherever you choose (for example iCloud Drive).
Bank notifications
If you set up the iPhone Shortcut automation, the text of your bank and e-wallet notifications is passed to Kire on your phone. Kire reads the amount, merchant and account from it and saves a transaction. The notification text is not sent anywhere. Kire never asks for your bank username, password or one-time codes, and ignores OTP messages.
CCRIS reports
When you import a CCRIS report, the PDF is read on your iPhone. Kire keeps the loan details you need (lender, facility, balances, instalments, repayment record) and only the last four digits of account numbers. The report itself isn't uploaded.
Location
If you allow it, Kire saves where a new transaction happened. The location stays on your phone. To show the name of a nearby shop, Kire asks Apple Maps for places near that spot; Apple handles that request under its own privacy policy. You can turn location off in Kire's settings or in iPhone Settings at any time.
Camera, photos and files
Receipt scanning and text recognition happen on your iPhone. Photos and files you attach are stored with the transaction on your phone (and in your iCloud if sync is on).
Ask Kire
Ask Kire uses Apple's on-device language model. Your questions and the figures Kire prepares are processed on your iPhone and are not sent to us or any other server.
Exchange rates
To convert foreign currencies, Kire downloads public exchange rates from the Frankfurter service. Only the list of currency codes is sent with that request — none of your data.
What we don't do
- We don't collect analytics, advertising identifiers or crash data from the app.
- We don't sell, rent or share your data.
- We don't require an account or sign-in.
Your choices
You can edit or delete any record in the app, export your data as CSV or a backup file, or erase everything from More → Erase all data. Deleting the app removes its data from your phone; data in your iCloud can be removed in iPhone Settings → your name → iCloud.
Children
Kire is meant for adults managing their own money and isn't directed at children.
